If you’ve never heard of “La Folie Douce,” explaining it might be a challenge. It’s something that needs to be experienced or witnessed to be fully understood. Over seven years ago, Luc Reversade created this innovative establishment, continuously making waves each winter. Situated at 2,500 meters above sea level in Val d’Isère, amidst the ski slopes, this unique “fooding-clubbing” concept is unlike any other in the world.

La Folie Douce: A Proven Formula Sure, there are plenty of similar places on trendy beaches worldwide, but nothing compares to this in the mountains. To appreciate its uniqueness, one might consider the music, sound quality, festive spirit, and stunning interior decor, but even that doesn’t do it full justice.

If you’re in a festive mood during your ski trip or just curious, witnessing this open-air spectacle at least once is a must. Even in -12°C weather, the terrace floor vibrates with skiers’ dance moves, staff pop champagne magnums to spray the crowd, and bass reverberates through the speakers…

Today, the concept’s success has led to the establishment of La Folie Douce” not only in Val d’Isère but also in Val Thorens and Méribel.

Luc Reversade’s brainchild, born after exploring party spots and dance beaches in Ibiza, Turkey, and Miami, is a stroke of genius. He transformed this ex-ski instructor’s wild idea into a reality, starting with La Folie Douce Val d’Isère.

Now, it’s an iconic mountain spot. Here, skiers can savour exquisite cuisine before transforming into high-altitude “clubbers” on the expansive dance floor, including dancing on tables. Specifically, “La Folie Douce” welcomes its international clientele to two quality restaurants: Le Nuvo Self, a modern self-service eatery, and La Fruitière, a high-end brasserie with a dairy cooperative theme. Both offer distinct vibes and choices.

The outdoor menu contrasts sharply with what’s on offer inside. The terrace features an overhanging balcony with a DJ booth, live shows, saxophonists, violinists, singers, musicians, performers, a VIP area, and a dance floor. Since last winter, a cabaret show has even been added to the afternoon lineup!

Two years ago, a new “La Folie Douce” branch opened in Val Thorens, reflecting its success in numbers: annually, around 300,000 people of all ages and nationalities come to party or dine differently at “La Folie Douce” establishments.
