View Property →Passy: a base near Saint-Gervais
Not every Alpine home needs a ski lift outside the front door. Passy makes a different proposition: a base in the Mont-Blanc area, with Saint-Gervais and Combloux nearby and a choice of places to spend the day. The distinction matters when buying. You are choosing a home from which to reach the mountains, not necessarily one from which to ski away.
We group Passy with Évasion Mont-Blanc to help buyers compare it with neighbouring destinations. That is a browsing category, not a claim that Passy is directly linked to the domain by pistes.
Reaching the skiing via Saint-Gervais
Saint-Gervais is an important access point to consider. Le Valléen connects Le Fayet, by the railway station, with Saint-Gervais village. From there, L'Alpin provides the onward gondola connection towards Le Bettex when operating. Check the official Saint-Gervais transport information for current timetables and operating dates before planning a journey.
Driving times depend on the property's exact address, the chosen lift, traffic and winter conditions. A short journey from one part of Passy is not a reliable estimate for the whole commune. Before buying, test the route from the actual property and allow for parking, carrying equipment and the onward lift journey.
Choose the address, not just the destination name
Passy covers different settings, from the valley around Chedde to the Plateau d'Assy and higher ground. Compare the day-to-day details: access to shops, the gradient of the approach road, parking and whether you would depend on a car. Chedde has a railway station, while Le Fayet is another useful transport point. The Passy tourism transport guide sets out the local options.
There are local outings as well as trips to neighbouring resorts, including Lac de Passy and the family ski area at Plaine-Joux. These should be assessed separately from access to Évasion Mont-Blanc: they are not interchangeable ski locations.
Comparing property in the surrounding area
For a buying shortlist, compare Passy with Saint-Gervais-les-Bains, Combloux and Megève. Look beyond the asking price to usable space, building charges, energy performance and the journeys you will actually make. For an apartment, review the condominium documents; for a chalet, check access and maintenance responsibilities.
